About Me
My name is Will Huskisson. Ever since I was a child growing up in the Midwest, I could always be found doodling surreal creatures and inventing outlandish worlds for them to reside in. As I grew older, I sought to channel my creativity into more practical applications. This led me to study Product Design at Iowa State University. It was here that I honed my drawing skills and learned how to take in customer needs and translate them into high-quality creative solutions.
In the seven years since graduation, I have been working in the furniture design industry, working on projects including height-adjustable tables, cubicles, and storage units. This experience deepened my understanding of user-centered design, allowing me to balance practicality and creativity while collaborating with clients to create functional and aesthetically pleasing products.
Although I enjoy the furniture industry, I still have a desire to break free and create traditional graphic art. This led me to get involved in the art community of Iowa City and compete in events such as the Folio Society Book Illustration Competition and Pokémon Card Illustration Competition, pushing my artistic boundaries and connecting me to a community of fellow creators. I continue that path today, seeking to add value to my clients through my illustrations. The foundation of my style is ink line drawing rendered in a unique blend of comic book and industrial design style textures and colors.
